SENSORY KITS ARRIVE

At the Elting Memorial Library, we strive to be a comfortable and welcoming place for all. In an effort to support all of our patrons, we will be housing new Sensory Kits at the front desk. The kit is meant to help our patrons of all abilities have a more enjoyable time in the library.

INSIDE THE KITS:

  • LCD Writing Tablet

    Typing can help verbal and nonverbal autistic learners as well as those who struggle to type. They can draw pictures or write to communicate.

    This cushion can be used as a bouncy seat or a foot bouncer. Bouncing can help reduce stress.

  • Fidget Tool

    Fidget tools to help calm a person and build finger muscles at the same time.

  • Coloring Book

    Relax by coloring amazing Mandala designs using the crayon provided in the kit.

  • Fidget Pad

    A fidget pad can help a person relax and calm down in a stressful situation.

  • Sunglasses

    Sometimes a person doesn’t want to make eye contact. These glasses will help.

  • Noise Canceling Headphones

    Some individuals prefer quiet surroundings. If the library is too loud, they can wear these to help.

  • Emotional Chart

    These emotional charts can help individuals communicate about their feeling.
